Learning about each other's culture

Chinese:
Chinese New Year falls in the months of January & February. Every New Year is named after one of the 12 animals in the Chinese Zodiac. There are several legends for Chinese New Year. One of the famous one's is about a monster called 'Nian'. It is believed that if the Chinese do their Spring cleaning on the New Year Day itself, they will sweep away their good luck. On the last day of Chinese New Year the whole family will have a family reunion.

Malay:
Hari Raya Haji marks the end of the Muslim's Pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in the Saudi Arabia. It is also Known as the Festival of Sacrifice. This day commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's test of obedience in sacrificing his son, Ismail.

Indian:
Deepavali, also known as Diwali means Festival of Lights. It falls on late October & early November on the new moon day. It represents a symbolic victory of good over evil. This festival highlights the victory of Lord Krishna over the, Demon king, Naraka.
